Astrid Keus: Artwork and projects 2018

In 2018 I didn't make that many works... It had a very good reason as I thought I would loose all three people whom were very imported in forming my childhood life. After a short sickbed my mom passed away, aged 84 in June; my brother passed away, aged 56 in September and my dad became very ill and needed surgery.

It was a very stressful year where we organized funerals, ran to doctors, flew to Africa and back for another funeral and planned and forged an operation for my dad in December 2018.

By God's grace, and sheer determination of himself, family and friends, and caring nurses whom surrounded him, my dad recuperated incredibly after his operation and is now a very accomplished man whom still shoots cannons for Batavialand and does charity work whenever he can. For some it seems: ''Life starts again at 84!'' ;)

Still my most favorite intuitive painting made around this time period is the one posted below here called: ''Flight of the dreaming parrot''. It has kept me positive when life seemed down and I still love the wacky colours in it. It also has coloured glass beads in it which reflect sunlight during the day.
