July 2017

I am participating in a holiday workshop for kids - or anyone who still feels like being a kid! Carla Sonheim (Canada) is an excellent art teacher and really an inspiration to me!

 Challenge day one:
Blob Hunting: Imaginary Animals

The first drawing was inspired by my photographs from rock formations (my blobs)
in La Palma which I took in 2014. I drew the outlines of the rock formations first, followed by legs and details of the imaginary animals. Thereafter I filled in the details and colours with watercolour pencils, felttippens and a Rotring pen.

My second drawing for the day was inspired by the formation of the Strelitia flowers
in La Palma. I also drew the outline shapes first, followed by the shading and details in the drawing. Thereafter I filled in the details and colours with watercolour pencils, felttip-pens and a Rotring pen.

  Challenge day two:
Dürer Rabbit

This time a drawing of a bunny! Done in oil pastels and scraper technique.

 Challenge day three:
Chagall Merry-Go-Round

A collage made of paper, posca-pens and guage.

  Challenge day four:
Picasso Cats

Finally, the three cats in the style of Picasso. You first draw a small eye, bigger eye, nose, hairs, ear, mouth, paw and tail moving them each time 90degrees around. Then you connect them in the best possible way on the page to give the impression of a cat. This was great fun to do! :)
